Sunrise
Sunrise

Whenever I am by the sea, I wake up very early to watch the sunrise. I never want to miss it. There is something about the first light of the day that gives me energy—not only to begin a new day, but also to recover from the shocks and difficulties that life can bring.

We may fall, sometimes very deeply, but I believe we can find the strength to rise again. I have gone through serious illnesses myself and, at one point, came close to losing my life. During those difficult periods, seeing a sunrise like this gave me a small but very real sense of energy and hope, helping me gradually find my way back.

In this painting, I was particularly drawn to the reflection of the sunlight on the water and to the feeling of light radiating outward from the sun. Choosing the colours of the sea was one of the most difficult parts, especially the purple tones. The gradual changes of colour in the sky were also challenging.

The painting is entirely acrylic, and I chose to leave the texture of the paint visible rather than adding oil. My intention was not to reproduce a sunrise exactly as it appears in reality, but to create my own interpretation of it—to express the light, warmth and energy that seem to spread from the sun and remind us that, throughout our lives, there is always the possibility of beginning again.

Simply amazing! You have drawn it beautifully, and the description is equally wonderful. I think this is exactly what it means to express one’s feelings through both art and words.

I am confident that the beauty of the visual and verbal expressions you have created will bring strength and inspiration to many people and become a source of comfort and healing through life’s joys, hardships, and pain. Lea congrats.
